Electromobility Use Case: Cross-Border EV Charge Point Booking Service

As part of the OMEGA-X project, four key use case families have been identified to address critical energy challenges through a unified data space. Among these, the electromobility use case family includes a groundbreaking pilot focused on charging networks across France and Belgium.

This pilot aims to tackle the challenges faced by electric vehicle (EV) users when it comes to booking charging stations while traveling across borders. The service allows users to book charge points at their destination, ensuring access to a wide selection of available charging stations, regardless of the country or the Electric Mobility Service Provider (EMSP) involved.

By enabling seamless roaming between different EMSPs and countries, this use case enhances the convenience and reliability of EV travel, helping to pave the way for a more connected, cross-border electric vehicle charging network. Through this initiative, the OMEGA-X project demonstrates the value of a common energy data space in addressing electromobility challenges, and in doing so, supports the wider transition towards sustainable, clean transport solutions.
